Method for producing new cationic dyes of the generalized formula 1, where R<1> denotes a hydrogen, chlorine, or bromide atom, or methyl, alkoxy, or relatively acetoamide group, hydroxyethyl group, R<2> denotes a methyl, or hydroxyethyl group and X<-> stands for anion of methyl sulphate, or of chlorine or bromide, characterised in that the methyl sulphate, or bromide 4 methyl-, or 4-hydroxyethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-cyclopentane[b]quinoline is treated in ethyl alcohol with 1,3- diphenyl triazine or its derivative of the generalized formula 2 where R<1> has meanings referred to above, while in the case of obtaining chemical compound of the formula 1 in the form of methyl sulphate, then if necessary methyl sulphate is converted into chloride.<IMAGE>
