PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide inexpensive magnet powder which has a uniform magnetic characteristic. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a magnet, which contains R (a rare-earth element), T (Fe or Fe and Co), N, and M (Zr or Zr partially replaced with one or more kinds of elements selected from among Ti, V, Cr, Nb, Hf, Ta, Mo, W, Al, C, and P); a hard magnetic phase containing a TbCu7 type crystalline phase; and a soft magnetic phase composed of a T-phase having a bcc structure includes a quenching process for obtaining a quenched alloy, a heat-treating process for heat-treating the quenched alloy for crystallization, and a nitriding process for nitriding the heat-treated quenched alloy. At the cooling of the quenched alloy after heat treatment in the heat-treating process, the cooling rate of the alloy to a temperature of 400 deg.C or lower is set at 10 deg.C/min or higher. |
