For the purpose of locating marking elements (7) in a pile (S) of labels and pushing these elements upwards, there is a detector arrangement (12) and an ejecting element (13), both of which are fixed to a carrier (20). Said carrier is connected to a traction element (21) which can be driven in rotation. Starting up a drive motor (24) causes the carrier (20) to be moved along the underside of the pile (S). As soon as the detector arrangement (12) reaches a position (26) in which it is in alignment with a marking element (7), the difference in brightness resulting thereby makes it possible to detect the presence of a marking element (7). The ejecting element (13) is then brought into an aligned position with the marking element (7) and the latter is pushed upwards by means of the ejecting element (13), causing it to jut out at the top somewhat above the pile (S). A cutting-off blade (14) which is introduced into the pile (S) behind the advanced marking element (7') is then subsequently used to separate the label bundle (16') situated in front of said marking element (7') from the remaining part of the pile (S). …<IMAGE>… |
