PURPOSE:To form a composition especially suitable for use in the production of a photosensitive lithographic printing plate by using a diazonium compound and a polymer having specified repeating units. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive composition contains a diazonium compound and a polymer having repeating units represented by formula I as a binder. The binder is obtd. by converting polyvinyl alcohol into polyvinyl acetal with aldehyde, reacting the -OH residues with an acid anhydride and reacting part of the resulting carboxylic acid with a halogen compound having a hydroxyl or cyano group. The binder is composed essentially of five components in the formula I. The 1st component is a vinyl acetal component, the 2nd component is a vinyl alcohol component, the 3rd component is an unsubstituted ester component, the 4th component is an ester component contg. a carboxyl group and the 5th component is an ester component contg. a hydroxyl or cyano group. |
