<p>Process for the manufacture of a sheet of paper. According to the invention the sheet comprises at least one region where the thickness is reduced in relation to the thickness of the remainder of the sheet and has a surface area of at least 0.4 cm<2>, by arranging on a cloth, embossed or otherwise, optionally arranged on a round mould, an aqueous dispersion containing at least cellulose fibres, by draining the water to form the sheet, in the presence or absence of a dandy roll, and by then drying, characterised in that flexible components are employed which are used in combination with the dandy cloth, the dandy roll or the round mould, so that the draining of the water when the sheet is being formed in the regions of the flexible components is reduced in relation to the draining of the water in the regions which do not comprise any flexible components.
