PURPOSE:To facilitate bending operation considering human engineering by arranging a bending indication input means which has a function to indicate a bending in a direction of bending with a higher frequency of use among a plurality of directions of bending at a position the nearest a thumb of an operator when an endoscope manipulating section is gripped. CONSTITUTION:A manipulating section 7 is provided with a bending manipulation switch part 19 as bending indication input means and indications are provided to bend a bending part in four directions... upward, downward, to the left and to the right. The bending manipulation switch part 19 is positioned on a grip part 20 near the thumb of an operator when the grip part is held to allow manipulation with a thumb. Here, a switch U for bending upward is located on the side the nearest the thumb among four switches with the highest frequency of use at a bending manipulation part 19. As a result, when upward bending is performed, the switch U for bending upward can be depressed without extending the thumb thereby reducing a feeling of fatigue in bending upward with the highest frequency of use. |
