Stain resistant polyamide fibers

A stain resistant composition for fibers having polyamide linkages prepared by polymerizing an alpha -substituted acrylic acid or ester in the presence of a sulfonated aromatic formaldehyde condensation polymer, or by polymerization of a sulfonated hydroxyaromatic ester of an alpha -substituted acrylic acid or acrylic acid, and methods for making and applying the composition.
