PURPOSE:To provide a spherical glass-state carbon powder having a rollability excellent in handleability a high strength capable of low damage-deterioration and a fine spherical shape and to provide its production method. CONSTITUTION:The objective spherical glass-state carbon powder having >=1.0 true specific gravity, 0.1-100mum average particle size and >=1.2 sphericity. Its production method is composed of the first hardening process where an initial condensate of phenol resin having >=45wt.% actual carbon ratio is powdered to a fine spherical powder having 0.2-120mum average particle size and <=1.2 sphericity and then immersed in an acid solution of 10-50 deg.C for >=30min the second hardening process where the powder is allowed to stand in the air at 150-300 deg.C for >=30min and the subsequent burning and carbonization process in a non-oxidative atmosphere. |
