PURPOSE:To inject water only while water injection is really required for an engine and to inhibit water injection while the engine is running in s state at water injection may cause an ill effect. CONSTITUTION:A fuel pump 70 for feeding fuel with pressure, a water pump 40 for feeding water with pressure, and a nozzle 1, which injects the fuel and water fed by the fuel pump 70 and water pump 40 into the combustion chamber of an engine respectively, are arranged. A rack actuator 80 for varying the quantity of the water injected from the fuel injection nozzle 1, sensors 91 to 94 for detecting the running condition of the engine, and a controller 90 which controls the rack actuator 80 based on the condition of the engine which is detected by the sensors 91 to 94 are provided. |
