PURPOSE:To improve durability of a bush type vibration isolator by suppressing excessive compressive deformation of an elastic body. CONSTITUTION:A disc-like stopper 22 is fixed at both of longitudinal ends of an inner cylinder 12 of a vibration 10 in which the inner cylinder 12 and an outer cylinder 14 are arranged in parallel. The stopper 22 is connected with an engine and does not contact an elastic body 16 in stationary state. (Refer to (A)). When the engine is oscillated up and down and large load acts on the vibration isolator 10 when vehicle runs on rough road and bumps, the elastic body 16, in particular, the section close to the inner cylinder 12 attempts to expand toward the outside in axial direction of the inner cylinder 12 (refer to (B)), but its expansion beyond the predetermined size is prevented due to its contact with the stopper 22. Namely, deformation (distortion) of the elastic body 16 is restricted. Since it is not deformed excessively, occurrence of crack of the elastic body 16 and its peeling from the inner cylinder 12 are prevented. and durability of the vibration isolator 10 is improved. |
