A front panel for drawers has a handle depression (16) sunk thereinto and a handle strip (22) pivoted thereto for movement within a limited region about its longitudinal axis, this strip being resiliently biased to a resting position. The handle strip (22) is of angle section with a front part (24) extending in the resting position approximately parallel to the front panel (10) and a rear part (26) projecting into the depth of the handle depression (16). The swivel axis (34) extends along the apex line (32) of the angle section and the rear wall (36 or 44) of the handle depression (16) forms along a substantial part of its width a stop (38) for the free edge of the rear part (26) of the angle section. By this configuration the handle depression (16) forms a pocket behind the front part (24) of the angle section enabling the handle strip to be gripped securely for pulling. <IMAGE> |
