PURPOSE:To produce a thermoplastic member which has strong germicidal properties, is hardly rotting, and is useful for a fiber, a fishing net, a sheet, a tatami mat, etc., by incorporating a powdered rare element mineral into the member. CONSTITUTION:A rare element mineral 1 is crushed and baked to give a ceramiclike mineral 4, which is pulverized. The resulting powder 2 is incorporated into a thermoplastic member. The obtained member, when converted into a fiber, a fishing net, a sheet, a tatami mat, a scrubbing brush, etc., prevents the growth of fungi and has a greatly extended life. Since the mineral emits alpha-rays and beta-rays, a bag or container made of the member contg. the powder can keep the freshness of food contained therein for longer time than before. The sheet or tatami mat made of the member, emitting alpha-rays, beta-rays, and gamma-rays, activates human life tissues, contributing to remarkable improvement in human health. |
