Continuous casting of thin steel slabs comprises using a mold (1) with a strand guiding device (3) having rollers (5,6) for guiding and conveying a cast strand (4). The rollers are additionally oscillated. An Independent claim is also included for a device for the continuous casting of thin steel slabs. Preferred Features: The amplitude and/or frequency of the oscillation agrees with the amplitude and/or frequency of the mold oscillation. The speed course of the mold oscillation is sinusoidal and the speed course of the roller pair is trapezoidal.
