PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas circuit breaker which is free of delayed cut-off speed and of slow down of SF6 gas blowoff. SOLUTION: The gas circuit breaker comprise a cut-off section for current input/cutoff, an operation drive section for driving the motion of the input/cutoff, and a transfer mechanism for transferring the drive force of the operation drive section to the cut-off section. The transfer mechanism comprises a rod at the cutoff section side, a rotating link lever of the cut-off section side combined and supported by the rod of the cut-off section side turnably, a rotating axis which supports the cut-off section side rotating link lever and being supported rotatably, a rotating link lever at the operation drive section side supported by the rotating axis and a rod at the operation drive side combined and supported by the operation drive side rotating link lever turnably. The combining supporting point of the operation drive side rotating link lever and operation drive side rod enables the distance to the axial center of the rotating axis to be freely variable.
