PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expensive picture display device by enabling the number of frame memories which are to be used, to be reduced as compared with that in the conventional practice in a picture display device which displays picture while performing display control in parallel in plural blocks. SOLUTION: In a writing part 20, the first output terminal 21a (16 bits) of a bus width converter 21 is connected in parallel with both of the first input terminal group 11a (lower 16 bits) and the second input terminal group 11b (upper 16 bits) of a frame memory 10. At the same time, a block changeover part 22 performs a processing for distributing picture data which are to be displayed on a first block to a first part bus (lower 16 bits) and picture data which are to be displayed on a second block to a second part bus (upper 16 bits) by adjusting a DM signal and an address counter 23 and, also, performs a processing so that line data whose writings are to performed simultaneously are stored in line areas having the same address number.
