<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a drum usable for liquid transport in bulk without cleaning before the use. CONSTITUTION: A drum is configured having a cavity enclosed by a base part 14, side wall 16 and upper wall 18 having a port. A liner is disposed within the cavity of an outer drum 12 and fixably secured to a first bung removably fixed on the port. The first bung has a central opening enabling access to the interior of the liner for filling and discharging purposes. When filled with a bulk liquid material, the liner conforms in shape to the shape of the enclosed cavity of the drum. Opening 20 of the first bung is sealed by the second bung engaged to the first bung. When the content is discharged and the drum is emptied and the liner collapses. Then, the first bung is removed from the port and the liner is removed in the state of being collapsed. Thus, a removable liner is provided which eliminates the necessity of cleaning the drum prior to reuse.</p> |
