PURPOSE:To control the occurrence of viral disease of silkworms, to cure the disease, not to have a bad influence upon the growth of silkworms, and to promote an increase in the production of raw material cocoon, by making silkworms eat a feed which is blended or coated with transfer ribonucleic acid extracted from yeast cells. CONSTITUTION:A feed blended or coated with transfer ribonucleic acid (a ribonucleic acid existing in a soluble fraction of living cell having a molecular weight of 20,000-30,000) extracted from cells of yeast, e.g., Saccharomyces Cerevisial, Candida Utilis is fed to silkworms to control their viral disease. Its previous administration can prevent the attack of nuclear polygon disease when silkworms are infected with virus. When they are once infected, its administration can control the attack. An effective dose of transfer ribonucleic acid to silkworms is preferably 50-300r (1r=10<-6>g) per g of the feed. |
