PURPOSE:To quickly attain the engine brake force as intended by a driver when an accelerator is set to off on a downward slope. CONSTITUTION:The vehicle speed V when an accelerator is set to off is stored in EBKSPD (S9), the actual vehicle speed V is compared with the judgment vehicle speed (EBKSPD+alpha) with the preset value added to EBKSPD (S11), when the vehicle speed V is the judgment vehicle speed (EBKSPD+alpha) or above, the opening theta of a throttle valve is closed by a fixed value DELTATH1 (S14), or the speed change gear is shifted down in the step not shown in the figure to increase the engine brake force, and the engine brake force is controlled so that the vehicle speed V does not exceed the judgment vehicle speed (EBKSPD +alpha). |
