PURPOSE:To simplify an operation by providing a control part for automatically changing the developing direction of a character string to be developed to a slave area when the developing direction of a text character string in a master area is changed. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with an input part 1 for inputting a character string and area managing information, an intra-area data processing part 2, an area managing data processing part 3 and output parts 4, 5. The device is also provided with the control part 6 for positionally completely including a 1st area, setting up a 2nd area arranged on the lower area of the 1st area as the master area of the 1st area, setting up the 1st area as the slave area of the 2nd area, and at the time of changing the developing direction of a text character string in the master area, changing the developing direction information of the slave area and storing the changed information in the processing part 3. Namely when the developing direction of the text character string in the master area is changed, the developing direction of the character string to be developed in the slave area can be automatically changed. Consequently operation for changing the character string developing direction from horizontal writing to vertical writing is simplified. |
