ELECTROCHEMICAL CONDENSER

PURPOSE: To provide such a method as easily manufacturing an electro-chemical storage battery including electrolyte for generating ignitable gas under a specific condition in use and further as guaranteeing satisfactory absorption of pressure waves at the time of explosion of the ignitable gas. CONSTITUTION: This electro-chemical storage battery is consisting of a container 4 and its lid 3 liquid tightly coupled to this container 4 and has a terminal pins 7 projected from its upper end. Furthermore, it also includes a labyrinth-like pressure adjusting coupling route 13 formed integrally with the lid 3 and connecting a space positioned above electrolyte 2 and surrounded by a housing 4 to the atmosphere. In order to prevent explosion of the housing 4 at the time of gas ignition, an extruded body 8 having an air tight hollow space 9 matching a special configuration is installed in a space between he lid 3 and the surface of the electrolyte 2.
