The invention concerns a method of monitoring the emission of nitrogen oxides NOx contained in the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine. The engine to be monitored comprises an accelerometer acting as a detector, the signals supplied by the accelerometer being analysed to determine the concentration of NOx in the exhaust gases of the engine by comparison with data supplied by an accelerometer fitted to a reference engine. |
