PURPOSE:To perform precise sum of product arithmetic even if a coefficient which is large in exponent part and a coefficient which is small are both present by cumulatively adding the products of data stored in a data storage part and coefficients stored in a coefficient storage part in order corresponding to the values of the exponent parts. CONSTITUTION:The data are stored in the data memory 1 and the coefficients are stored in a coefficient memory 5; and the products of the data stored in the data memory 1 and the coefficients stored in the coefficient memory 5 are cumulatively added in the order corresponding to the values of the exponent parts of the coefficients stored in the coefficient memory 5. In this case, a cumulative adder 6 adds 24-bit data, generated by extending 23-bit data inputted from its input terminals A0-A23 and outputted from a multiplier 4 by one bit, to 24-bit data inputted from its input terminal B0-B23 and stored in an accumulator ACC 7 and outputs the result from output terminals SIGMA0-SIGMA23. |
