PURPOSE:To realize the navigation device for displaying a position of the own vehicle on a map which can enhance map recognizability and scroll operability, with regard to the navigation device. CONSTITUTION:The device isconstituted by providing a map data storage means 20 for storing map data, an own vehicle position detecting means 21 for detecting a position of the own vehicle, an own vehicle azimuth detecting means 22 for detecting an advance azimuth of the own vehicle, a display means 23 for plotting the map and the position of the own vehicle, a scroll switch 25 for giving a command for scrolling a display map, and a display control means 24 for reading out and displaying the map data, and also, displaying the own vehicle position by superposing it on the map displayed on the display means 23, and varying the direction of the map displayed on the display means 23 in accordance with the advance azimuth obtained from the own vehicle azimuth detecting means 22, and moreover, varying the azimuth defined to the display map scroll switch 25 in accordance with a variation of the display direction and executing a scroll of the displayed map. |
