The invention relates to a fixing member made up of a head (3) and of a body (2) and to an associated device for helping with installation for fitting, tightening or loosening such a member. According to the invention, the head (3) of the member includes at least two slots (4a, 4b) located in or symmetrical with a vertical plane (AA') passing through the axis of the body (2) of the member, the said slots (4a, 4b) being inclined on either side of the axis of the member and assuming a divergent appearance, preferably at the top of the head of the member in the direction of its bearing face (6), the said head (3) of the member being temporarily associated, for the operations of fitting or removal, with a fitting, tightening, installation device of which that end which comes into contact with the slots (4a, 4b) of the head (3) of the member is homothetic with the profile and with the direction of the said slots (4a, 4b).
