The peptide of formula: Trp - Ser - Tyr - Gly - Leu - Arg - Pro - Gly - NH2, when it is coupled t an immunogenic carrier protein, is useful as active ingredient for anti-LHRH vaccines designed either to induce an immune response of weak intensity, without notable or even measurable effect on the secretion of gonadal steroids, or to produce the suppression or significant reduction of the secretion of steroids without adverse local or systemic reaction, capable of damaging the appearance or quality of the meat. A set for the anti-LHRH vaccination of animals comprises an equal number of doses of a vaccine to be administered as a first injection and of a vaccine to be administered before slaughtering. <IMAGE>
