Machine for brushing and rubbing down metal panels used for concrete formwork in the erection of buildings, comprising a support able to support at least one panel (2) with its prepared side horizontal and uppermost, a frame capable of movement along one axis on horizontal rails (3) placed on either side of the support, a carriage (8) capable of horizontal movement along an axis perpendicular to that of the rails (3), at least one rotary brush (14) turning about a vertical axis and connected to the mobile carriage by a hinged parallelogram link, and preferably means (16) for irrigating the formwork panel close to where the brushes are working. The brushes thus sweep across the entire surface of the formwork panel, the movements preferably being controlled automatically. <IMAGE>
