PURPOSE:To realize appropriate charging corresponding to the capacity of battery to be charged in a motor vehicle wherein a battery is charged with power generated from a motor when a drive wheel coupled therewith is subjected to regenerative brake. CONSTITUTION:When a residual capacity meter 20 for a battery 1 detects a low residual capacity of battery, regenerative brake force to be applied on a drive wheel Wr is increased in order to increase power generation of a motor 2 coupled with the drive wheel Wr, whereas regenerative brake force is decreased when a high residual capacity is detected. Furthermore, combined correction is made for increasing regenerative brake force as the temperature of the battery 1 rises and for decreasing regenerative brake force as the time elapses after start of regenerative brake for every brake operation. According to the constitution, the battery 1 is charged efficiently and protected against deterioration due to overcharge. |
