A thermometer, especially of the type used for children, comprises a body (2) on which a graduated scale is provided at the level of a channel (4) allowing an indicating liquid, such as mercury in general, to move in the channel, the said liquid being contained in a reservoir or bulb (5) placed at one end of the said body (2). According to the invention, at least a part of this thermometer (1) is covered with a jacket (7) fixed onto the body (2), the said jacket (7) being made of non-toxic rubber. <IMAGE>
