PURPOSE:To secure an area necessary for the composition of image data by a simple operation in the case of composing image data in a document. CONSTITUTION:When image data are selected (step S1) by inputting the name of image data, the values of row and column pitches are obtained (step S2) from an image size consisting of the numbers of horizontal dots and vertical dots in the selected image data and the contents of format data and the number of rows and the number of columns matched with the image size are computed (step S3) by executing area calculation based upon the image size, the row pitch and the column pitch. When an image data composing position in a specified document is specified by a cursor or the like (step S4), the calculated area is secured on the specified composite position. |
