PURPOSE:To lower the surface temperature while minimizing the outer form dimension by, at the time of covering the front surface of a HID lamp with a translucent glass, forming the glass from a plurality of glasses having an air layer put between them. CONSTITUTION:A low post street lamp is formed of a metal lamp body 1, a glass frame 2, a post 3, a mirror surface reflecting plate 4, an outside glass 5, and an inside glass 6. In the inside of the lamp body 1 enclosed by the lamp body 1 and the frame 2, a light source 8 of a HID lamp installed to a lamp socket 7 and the reflecting plate 4 covering its back surface are received, and this is mounted on the low post 3 is which a ballast is received. In this constitution, an air layer 9 having a determined thickness is held between the outside and inside glasses 5, 6 through a silicon non-foamed packing 10 resistant to temperature, and this is fixed to the frame 2 by use of a glass stopper 11. A transparent glass is used for the glass 5, a front glass for the glass 6, and a diffused light flux is generated while gentling the glare of the light source 8. |
