Communications method using a multiple-access protocol in a network, characterised in that: . an open station, which is disabled for the first time since it became open, interrupts its transmissions at the end of the current transmission; . an open station, which is disabled at least for the second time, sends, at least, L+1 frames as soon as it detects a low-level signal if it has sent at least L+1 frames, while it redetects a high-level signal, it interrupts its transmissions, at the latest at the end of the current transmission; otherwise it stops sending L+1 frames before interrupting its transmissions; . a closed station which is disabled remains in the closed state, even if it has local frames to transmit.
