PURPOSE:To prevent an erasure of high access frequency data by erasing low access frequency characters when the region, into which bit map expanded characters are written, is small and securing the region into which high access frequency characters are written. CONSTITUTION:After a CPU 6 reads out data from an outline font data 1 to a bit map expanding circuit 2 and often a bit map expansion, the data subjected to the bit map expansion are written into a character storage device 3. At the same time, information related to the bit map expanded data is written into a character information storage device 4 by a character information writing circuit 5. If once bit map expanded characters already exist in the device 3, character information is read from the device 4, frequency information is updated and the information is written into the device 4. And if a region can not be secured at the time of writing data into the character storage device 3, the character information is read from the device 4, the characters with a low access frequency are erased to secure the region. |
