PURPOSE:To efficiently recover energy in a motor vehicle comprising drive wheels subjected to hydraulic brake and regenerative brake and driven wheels subjected to hydraulic brake by applying regenerative brake preferentially when a brake pedal is stepped strongly whereas applying combined brake or only hydraulic brake when the brake pedal is stepped weakly. CONSTITUTION:A brake control ECU 7 receives data from an r.p.m. sensor 22, front and rear wheel speed sensors 23, a brake pedal stepping force sensor 24, an accelerator opening sensor 28, a steering sensor 26, an accumulator pressure sensor 27, and the like. The ECU 7 controls a motor 2 through a motor transmission control ECU 6 and a power drive unit PDU 5. When the ECU 7 makes a decision that the brake pedal is stepped strongly based on various input data. regenerative brake is selected and a battery 1 is charged with power generated from the motor 2. On the contrary, when a decision is made that the brake pedal is stepped weakly, regenerative brake and hydraulic brake are combined or only hydraulic brake is selected. According to the invention, energy can be recovered effectively. |
