An item of electronic apparatus, such as a domestic video recorder, has a keyboard matrix and display unit (14) coupled to a controller (10) with outputs to a mechanism part (11), a circuit part (12) and a sensing part (13). Each key of the matrix has a built-in LED indicator. In operation the user may set a required-sequence stored in the system memory and clearly displayed on the panel, thereby simplifying the operation of the electronic apparatus by providing the stored program.
