PURPOSE:To improve the critical current density by filling the powder of oxide superconductive material in a metal sheath, and specifying the cooling speed after the processing and the heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:After filling the powder of oxide superconductive material in a metal sheath, processing and heat treatment and cooling are performed in order to obtain a predetermined-shape wire material. At this stage, the cooling speed is specified at 300 deg.C/hour or less. Generation of crack is thereby restricted to obtain the wire having a high critical current density. Consequently, possibility of the practical application to a cable and a magnet or the like is improved.
