The machine comprises a chassis (11) on wheels (12) and carries, for the wood waste to be shredded, a container (13) provided with a discharge opening (37) and with which there is associated an apparatus with a rotor (20) comprising hammers (21) for shredding the waste. Between the container (13) and the apparatus with a rotor (20), there is interposed a second rotor (18) for sending the waste to the first rotor (20). The two rotors (18, 20) are rotationally entrained by entrainment means connected to a central transmission (15) which may be coupled up to an external power source. <IMAGE>
