Concrete surface patterning - uses a structured transfer mat with granules which are embedded into wet concrete surface

To apply a pattern to a concrete surface, a pattern transfer mat has a structured shape to impose a pattern on the wet concrete surface and also transfer a number of distinctive granules to the wet concrete surface, and be embedded. The patterning mat has a corrugated structure and the distinctive granules are coated with cement powder. The distinctive granules are secured to the transfer mat by an adhesive layer with components which are released by the wet concrete and/or water, distributed over the transfer mat and which are transferred and embedded into the concrete surface. The granules have a max. dia. of 2.5 mm. A powder dye can be deposited on the granules. The transfer mat is corrugated, with distributed granules with deposited cement powder. USE/ADVANTAGE - The wet concrete is poured over the transfer mat, covered with gravel or glass fragments secured by a water-soluble adhesive, which is removed after the concrete has set to leave a patterned and structured surface. The technique gives the concrete a structured visual appearance, with colours, in a simple action.
