Taking representative samples form milk deliveries

In the device the sampling pump is controlled in relation to the actual instantaneous vol. of milk delivered; this instantaneous vol. is calculated from the velocity and fullness of flow in the milk delivery pipe; these quantities are measured by means of flat-surfaced probes (25,26); and the milk samples are taken from the lower part of the delivery pipe. The device includes velocity sensor (17) and conductivity-type fullness-of-flow sensor (18) located in the milk delivery pipe (3). A data processing unit (15) derives the control data for the pump (5,6) of the sampling unit (4) from these velocity and fullness-of-flow measurements.
