The clip has a ring (3), for fastening to a housing of a writing implement, and a clip leg (6), of elastic material. The flat band material of the ring engages under spring tension on at least half the circumference of the housing. One end of the material is bent through at right angles, to form a clip leg. The open end (4) of the ring material is bent about a bending line, which extends at 45 degrees relative to the clip leg. This end also has a step, the height of which determines the distance between clip leg and housing circumference. The leg end has a shoulder, to engage on the housing.
