PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a collision relaxation property against a front obstacle not withstanding a collided position without impairing aerodynamic characteristics, in a bumper 1 in which a reinforcement 6 is arranged to expand in the width direction of a vehicle at a body front of a vehicle V, in front of which an energy absorption member 7 set parallel to many energy absorption ribs 29, 29,... of the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, which are covered with a bumper face (skin member) from the front body of the vehicle. SOLUTION: In the energy absorption member 7, the energy absorption ribs 29, 29,... is made to gradually shorten from almost middle part to right and left both sides of the vehicle width direction in the longitudinal length of the vehicle body. This makes the intervals of adjoining ribs 29, 29 to gradually shorten from the almost center part toward the right and left both sides of the width direction of the vehicle in such a degree that the energy absorption of each rib 29 decreases. The thickness of the rib wall may be gradually increased toward the right and left both sides.
