The locking bar arrangement comprises a bush (1) which is mounted on the inside of a door (2) and stretching approximately the full width of the door. At each end of the bush (1) a slidable bolt (4) is inserted, provided with a radially protruding pin (9). On the door frame or on the wall adjoining the door frame a striker plate (6) is mounted, consisting of a tubular keeper (5) and a mount (7) incorporating screw holes (8). The striker plate (6) is mounted so that the tubular keeper (5) is flush with the bush (1). In the keeper (5) a cut-out (10) is made into which the pin (9) can be received and turned to a position where it comes to rest against the mount (7) covering at least one of the screw holes (8). On the outside of the cut-out (10) the bush (5) and bolt 4 are provided with a through-going drilled hole (11) whose centre line is parallel with the mount (7). The sliding bars can be locked into the secure position e.g. by inserting a padlock through the holes (11, 12) in their mating striker plates (6). <IMAGE>
