Fuel emissions from motor vehicles when filling tanks is prevented by an adsorption film in the form of a plate, cuboid or cylinder of a three-dimensional support contg. adsorber, positioned in a flat pocket in the tank itself or on the outside. Pref. adsorbers are active C with numerous micropores in the range 20-50 Angstrom and porous polymers based on styrene/-divinylbenzene. ADVANTAGE - Easy desorption, does not soak up fuel in use.
