<p>An apparatus for the introduction or removal of fluid based material from a body of patient by a clinician. The apparatus comprises a device (14) for communicating with the interior of the patient's body to continuously introduce fluid based material into or remove the fluid based material from the body's interior. The communicating device (24) is fluidically sealed (26) such that fluid based material cannot escape therefrom and contact the clinician.The apparatus is also comprised of a device (24) for controlling whether the fluid based material is introduced into or removed from the body's interior while the communicating means is in contact with the body without the escape of the same therefrom. The controlling device (24) is in fluidic communication with the communicating device (14).</p> |
