The pigs have individual adjoining stalls (1) separated from a walkway by self opening and closing gates, and in two groups (5,6), separated by a grill (12). A fodder station (4) with a swing gate (7) is arranged at the dividing point of the two groups in the walkway (2) which at the same point is separated into two (8,9). Only one pig at a time can leave its stall, go to the fodder station for its allocation of feed, and return.
