Device for straightening rotary-symmetrical workpiece - has straightening press with computer-controlled clamp elements and workpiece handling/processing devices

The device has a straightening press (1) with automatic clamp elements (6) to hold one end of a workpiece (8). An automatic turning device (5) moves the workpiece about its axis of symmetry. A straightening die (11) is placed on the workpiece by a straightening force. A run true-measuring device determines the position of at least one peripheral line of the workpiece jacket, relative to the axis. There is a screening device for temporary screening of the press. A process control computer is connected to all the devices, and to the clamp elements. Relative data is stored in the computer in the form of reference values of run-true deviations of the workpiece. The computer feeds a signal to the clamp elements, to open them. ADVANTAGE - Eliminates any additional imponderability which may affect quality.
