<p>No-charge information stored in a CD-ROM, which is mounted on a CD-ROM drive (202) in a CD-ROM system (200), is readable by a personal computer (100). Chargeable information in the CD-ROM is read out after receiving through a MODEM (203) a password from a telephone reception operation center (300) after its sales contract. More concretely, the received password is collated with the password registered in a system password memory (204) by the personal computer (100), and thereafter, according to the readout instruction given from the personal computer (100), the chargeable information is read out from the CD-ROM by the CD-ROM drive (202). Then, the chargeable information is delivered to the personal computer (100), after the read chargeable information is deciphered by an IC (201A) for deciphering.</p> |
