The machine is propelled by right- and left-hand chain drives with separate hydraulic control circuits. Straight-ahead running, constant forward speed, and curve-following at adjustable speed are guaranteed by electronic control. The control panel (1) carries a joystick (2) connected to brakes for selection of forward or reverse running or standstill, a steering preselector (3), and a speed preselector (4). A concealed changeover switch connects these devices either directly or via the electronic circuitry. ADVANTAGE - The electronic control allows regulated operation but its failure does not preclude further application of hot bituminous material.
