<p>An oxoimidazo(1,5-a)quinoxaline and a oxoimidazo(1,5-a)quinazoline of formula (I), an imidazo(1,5-a)-1,2,4-triazolo-(4,3-c)quinazoline and an imidazo(1,5-a)-1,2,4-triazolo-(4,3-c)quinozoline of formula (II), and an imidazo(1,5-a)quinoxaline of formula (III). The R-groups and other variables are as defined herein. The compounds are useful in the treatment of central nervous system disorders associated with the benzodiazepine receptors in a subject in need of such treatment comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically-effective amount of a formula I, II, or III compound for alleviation of such disorder. Typically, the compound of formula I, II, or III is administered in the form of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier or diluent.</p> |
