Electric heating element for vehicle seat

The heating system has panels with integral heating loops and with the separate panels linked by flexible conductors (3) in soft plastics sleeve. This prevents localised heating effects at the connections. The panels are spaced over the area to be heated and controlled from a suitable point. The soft sleeving is silicone rubber. The heating panels are provided with an adhesive layer covered with a peel-off cover for simple application to the seat before the seat cover is fitted.
