A holder for an oblong building block of electrical or electronic components has spring elements at the ends with which the holder is retained in two cross bars (3, 4) in the cabinet. The spring elements (23) take the form of a U- or V-shaped loop. They extend from the base of the mount at least to the level of a recess (33) in a sidewall (32) of the cross bars. The spring loops have projections (29) that lie in the recesses. A locating peg (41) on each holder protrudes through a corresponding hole (11) in each cross bar. The ends of the holder have recesses (45) for electrically conducting contact springs. In the cross bars transverse grooves (48) also hold spring members.
